Original work by Chase Adin, Case Number 346: Sarah Mayes follows the private investigation of Sarah Mayes, a young woman who has found herself dead before the play begins. Sarah Mayes is highly unstable and copes with much anxiety, stress, and paranoia of being murdered. The Detective takes the case on in the fall of ’96. At the end of the case Sarah Mayes had been murdered, the Belms’ couple had been put in jail for her murder, and the Detective goes into solitude for the next 3 years. Feeling had returned to the Detective, but with a void of memory. There are case notes in his handwriting of which he cannot make sense. In the fall of ‘99, the Detective embarks on his 346th case… a case upon himself.
This production is a collaborative effort on the Jansen Dance Project: theatre, dance, and electronic music composition. Dance styles include modern, hip-hop, and contemporary ballet. The collaboration does not try to mix the above art forms, but rather layer them to bring out the best of them simultaneously. All Out Repertory Theatre has contributed to bringing this forward as well.
